Perfecting Shooting Power and Accuracy
Shooting combines precision, timing, and power, making it one of the most rewarding yet challenging football skills. Start with stationary shooting drills: place the ball 15 meters from the goal and practice aiming for the corners, alternating between your left and right foot. Focus on striking the ball with your laces for power and the inside of your foot for controlled accuracy. Perform 20 shots with each foot, aiming to hit the corners consistently. Move on to dynamic shooting drills, such as receiving a pass and shooting in one fluid motion. Set up cones in the penalty area to simulate defenders and practice bending shots around them. To build power, use resistance bands during shooting drills to strengthen your leg muscles. Dedicate 30–40 minutes to shooting practice, ensuring you vary angles, distances, and situations. Over time, challenge yourself with high-pressure drills, such as timing your shots or shooting after sprinting to mimic real-game fatigue.
